So my time sink of the decade has been released. A lot of controversy over Infinity Ward’s decision to get rid of dedicated servers for the game. While I’m concerned on how effective IW’s ability to combat cheaters, I’m quite okay with the new arrangement.
Some people may miss the community aspects of dedicated servers, but as someone who’s been screwed over by the judgments of these folks, I don’t miss it. In place, I get a match making service that was even more blazing fast than MW1. Somehow, with only a Windows 7 upgrade, the game is running on my rig just as fast as MW1 (thank you Microsoft?).
I am more than impressed by MW2 so far, and I will have a full impression later.
