I’ve long complained about the lack of realism in a supposed realistic shooter like Call of Duty. Complaints are mainly graphical glitches and the fact that realistic shooter gameplay hasn’t changed much since Counterstrike. Call of Duty series does offer a “hardcore” mode and the only reason I’m getting to it now is because I don’t play it that much.

Good thing I don’t because it’s about as fun as actual war. Basically, hardcore mode is playing without the HUD and that bullets cause more damage. Add that to the usual BS in the normal mode (last stand, the shimmy, proners, etc.) and the gaming experience turns into a rage inducing one.

If you want realism in your gaming, go play America’s Army. Otherwise, avoid hardcore mode if you want to enjoy Call of Duty.
